Walter Elias "Walt" DisneyWalt Disney would have been 112 years old today !   Happy Birthday Walt !

Walter Elias “Walt” Disney was born on this day December 5th,1901 in Chicago, Illinois.

Walt Disney’s birthplace, at 2156 North Tripp Ave, Chicago was sold to Dina Benadon and Brent Young of the Hollywood based amusement  park firm Super 78 earlier this year.

The location will be restored and turned into a museum and kid focused community resource center. Ground will be broken on Thursday, December 5th 2013 marking Walt’s 112th birthday.

Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel will also designate December 5th as “WALT DISNEY DAY” in honor of the occasion.

Disney Collectors Club and all its members wish to acknowledge the 112th birthday of this great American icon that has brought smiles to millions of  Disney fans everywhere.

A business man, animator, movie producer, 22 Academy Awards winner, 7 Emmy Awards winner, screenwriter, theme park designer plus an entrepreneur, Walt was a visionary,loved and recognized world wide.

Walt and Roy Disney created, designed and shared a dream that can be enjoyed by all ages.

Along the way Walt, Roy and  created some of the most recognized cartoon characters in the world including a lovable mouse that became a trademark and easily recognized iconic symbol for the Walt Disney corporation.

I only hope that we don’t lose sight of one thing – that it was all started by a mouse


Walt Disney passed on December 15th, 1966 from lung cancer.

Walt and Lilly Disney’s oldest daughter Diane Disney Miller,passed last month November 19th, 2013 in San Francisco,California from injuries caused by a fall.
